Sailing Clubs

Clontarf is one of the oldest sailing clubs in Ireland being founded in 1875! There are 12 active IDRAs at Clontarf. The sailing area is very convenient to the club with public parking adjacent.  Food is typically served in the bar after sailing. There is a lively class of both genders and all ages, which is active socially and on the water. The class has a full program of sailing events and offers over 50 races in a season. You will be most welcome to join the club aswell as the class!

There are approximately 10 active IDRA14's in Dun Laoghaire based in the DMYC and RStGYC. They compete every Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon in the DBSC races. Sailors from both clubs have dinner at the DMYC after Tuesday evening racing which always makes for a lively après-racing gathering. Throughout the year all the southside yachtclubs organise their own regattas which the IDRA's generally also attend together with visiting boats from Clontarf and Sutton.
Over the last few years the class has welcomed many new sailors both as helms and crews. We have a crews list from which we actively try to get people into boats and this also helps helms who have no regular crew.
